Trash to Treasure

Don't you just loving turning something that was trash into a tiny treasure?

As I was shopping at Hobby Lobby the other day, I happened to cruise the clearance section of the store. Searching high and low for the "perfect" deal! Out of all the great things on sale I managed to find something that was broken! It was a lid to a box that they had several of marked down. Did I want the one in one piece? No! I wanted the broken lid! I just fell in love with the print on it. I have done this before numerous times. I pick up garbage in the store go to the cashier and they look at me like I am some kind of a weirdo! Well maybe, but I can see something different! So I brought it to the cashier and asked if I can buy the broken lid. She looked at me perplexed, took a minute and said, "That's garbage! You can just have it. We are going to throw it away anyway!" Yay! A free treasure! They still got me though. I bought some knobs for it! 50% off!

Isn't it the cutest picture! It was missing a knob at the right also. I decided to add some knobs along the bottom to hang things from it. So I got out the drill.

I drilled three holes for my pretty knobs. I got the old knob that came off of my painted hutch and added it to the hole on the lid.

It cost $4.50 to make it. Another quick and easy project! Too cute! I even used the old hinge on the back for a hanger!
Now its ready to hang things on!
