The Start of Christmas Decorating

Before you read on please go enter my birthday giveaway HERE! For my distressed WISH sign that is in my ETSY store!

Well I finally got a chance to start decorating. Around here it takes a couple of days to get it all up. I go a little overboard but I love Christmas to be bright and sparkly! I started with my staircase.

I love to decorate the catwalk with big balls and green garland. Then lights. Tiny red lights just to give a glow up above us.

Here is something that is really different. One year I asked a store if I could have their display when Christmas was over. It was a hanging curtain of beads and crystal snowflakes. They were happy to give it to me so they didn't have to throw it away. THROW IT AWAY! Can you believe that? What a waste of something beautiful! But not this time, I got it!

I brought it home and took off each strand to use in my decorating. I wish you could see it in person because it sparkles so bright.

I hang the big balls from the spindles to hang below at variegated lengths.

Like I said you can't even get the real feel or look of it in a picture. Or maybe it is my bad camera skills ...not sure.

I just like the way it brings the whole living room together. This is just the beginning!! Lots more to do.

Lots of traditional colors in the living room. Red, Green. Gold, and  Silver. The color red really pops against the beige walls. So it is the prominent color I work with. The dining room will be silver.
Gotta get to work! Have a great day!!!

Love it. The one time I got up the nerve to ask they told me they reused their stuff so that great since it wouldn't go to waste. But I need to ask again!
