Turquoise Jewelry Chest

`Although the 3M clean air system was provided by 3M, all opinions are mine.

Bright and pretty Turquoise!

Shades of blue are throughout my home and in the work that I do. One of my favorite colors is turquoise. Maybe it has something to do with my December birthday. Turquoise is my birthstone.

I don't know, but it is appealing to me.

In this project I got to go through my blue craft room and turn some junk treasures into a little addition to change up the look and update an old boring jewelry chest.

I love the curvy legs on this jewelry chest. They stand tall too.

The story is: I found this when I was looking for smaller ones for my class.
I had just finished my artsy jewelry box when I found this one.

I had to have it. I don't know about any of you, but I have tons of jewelry. I just can't get rid of. Most of it is costume jewelry but those are some of my favorites.

It is quite an obsession...

So if you are like me you need lots of storage. I think those cute little organizers on Pinterest are great but come on people there is only room for like five necklaces!

So I go big or go home!

My jewelry chest is even bigger than this one.  It's true!

but alas...I will not keep this. ......sigh

This will be the new addition at Simply Market Place in Murfreesboro, TN

But I was tempted to keep it!

It can hold lots of treasures!

Oh and speaking of treasures

When I was at Haven I got this 3M Clean Sand System

You hook it to a shop vac and it acts like a sanding block. The best thing is there is no dust!!! The sand paper doesn't clog up because the air is sucking the dust up before it can. This keeps the sandpaper fresh longer so it lasts. I used on this jewelry chest to smooth the paint.

Loved it and so did my lungs!

One of the problems I had with this piece was the pulls. They were broke off.

But remember I told you I got some junk treasures from my craft room?

I found some earrings that I attached with thick wire and hung them for pulls!

Appropriate don't you think?

Well you know how I am!

Thinking outside the box.....the jewelry box!.... (I know corny!)

What do you think? I love to hear your comments!!

The new pulls you made for this piece are so appropriate, Deneen! It looks like a great size piece to hold jewelry, too. I have a lot as well, although I don't wear as much as I used since I stopped working.

Nice job Deneen. Love the earring pulls. I'm one of those people that could fit all my jewelery into 5 squares.

This is so cute, Deneen.
Brilliant to add her earrings- what a perfect touch! I love turquoise and orange together, it just screams fun.

I saw this on Pinterest and had to comment. I love they way the jewelry box turned out. I like the natural wood color before but I'm a sucker for things turquoise. I even pinned it to my furniture makovers board. So cute and fabulous job.
