It is hot here in Tennessee and this is a happening week!
I was invited to a VIP sneak preview of the Nashville Symphony Showcase House yesterday. It was an event by Forest Home Media.
The house is built by Castle Homes, Architecture by Wade Weissmann Architecture, and designed by area designers.
The Nashville Symphony will be the benefactor for the home event held June 12-28 in Forest Hills, Tennessee.
I love home tours but these are my favorite because I can actually see the rooms. The crowd is smaller at a preview. So enjoy the many pictures of this home.
As I walked into the home I went straight into the kitchen where a 300 year old piece of white oak, out of a Wisconsin Milk barn, was the centerpiece island.
A piece from the same barn was used as the mantle on the fireplace.
The stove hood is wrapped with subway tile. It is straight and makes a statement in the kitchen.
The room that connects to the kitchen is the Family Organization Center/ laundry room. Yes that is what I said! Look how big. It is lined with beautiful wood look tile. This wood table was one of my favorite pieces.
The mud room is off of this room and goes outside near garage.
My favorite room in the house was the lounge.
Love this antique rug upholstered on this bench!!!
My other favorite thing was the awesome photography by Nashville Artist Andy Detwiler.
In the middle of the house is the dining room and living room. The gathering room.

The master bath with lots of windows. It had tons of light. Not used to seeing that many windows in a bathroom.
Upstairs there were two bathrooms that connected his and her guest bedrooms

Both bedrooms are connected with a sitting area with this gorgeous feather ceiling light
with the only major color other than the art on the walls was this feather pillow
the other bedroom had this cool display case filled with old vinyl
We are in Music City after all!
Back downstairs I could pass up the chandelier on the staircase
The outside was just as pretty as the inside
When we were through we were treated to delicious treat from Miss Daisy King
A wonderful gardening book by Troy Marden, The man behind the beautiful flowered woman at the Antique and Garden show I wrote about.
Then the talented Carmen Johnston taught us how to make container gardens that later became our gift.
It is so pretty. The perfect mix of flowers
I had a wonderful time and hope they raise a lot of money for the symphony. I will be attending a show of the Wizard of Oz on Sunday that the symphony will put on. It will be my first time there. I can't believe it has taking me so long.

Beautiful photographs!!! I missed that the dining table was made from reclaimed wood from Municipal Auditorium - I was just talking about that place today! Back in my day, it's where all the real rock-and-roll concerts were held :)
