French Desk

Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying fall. Fall is my favorite time of year. At the store we are getting ready with our new theme of the season. That means decorating!! Remember last year? This is when I can get to be even more creative. I wind up spending too much time on it but I love it! I can't wait to show you when it is done.

In the meantime, I got a few desks in. One kidney shaped, two french.
One was a child's french desk. As I was gathering them to show a customer, I had them stacked. The woman bought the large french desk. Another woman cam in and saw the child's desk and had to have it for her granddaughter's room. She brought in fabric so it could have a custom look.

 Continuing reading

French desks have the best details. Even this cute one had the raised fronts on the drawers and the little urn on the bottom. The hardware is always a plus on these pieces.

I like to paint hardware sometimes. I did these is pink and white.
My favorite little touch were the drawers.
Her fabric had polka dots so I wanted to incorporate them in this french desk.

I used the hardware to mimic the polka dots by painting them white. I painted the drawers white first then black.

How did I get the dots so perfect?

My little secret....

I will share with you!

I used stickers!

Be careful when using them though. Since they are not really for paint it could bleed.

Remove the stickers before the paint dries to reveal the white underneath

I am thrilled with the way it came out.

I am ready to paint more polka dots!!

This little girl is one lucky kid!

Would you have just loved this sweet thing in your room when you were little?
Her grandma was pleased.

happy fall
