Peacock Chairs

One of the best things about my business is when I get to turn something that would have normally been trashed into something that is treasure.
Old pieces brought to life!
These peacock chairs were part of that process.

A customer brought them into Dreamingincolor for upholstery and to have them restore. They had found the chairs in their grandmothers barn. The wood was all dried out and a little water damaged. There were dirt nests on the bottom and no fabric remained.

This chair was the before. The before with lots of potential. It will soon become a gorgeous peacock chair.

The after was breathtaking! Take a look!

The wood was walnut and we restored and stained to the dark color the customer wanted.

It is always the details that make the piece. These carving were so unique. We added a few brass upholstery tack to the edge and brought this up to date with color and fabric

Covered buttons finished the printed top of the peacock chair.

We take in lots of upholstery but this one is one of my favorites.

We saved it from being dumped or burned or forgotten. That my friends is why I love doing what I do.

Enjoy!

How old are those chairs and is there a specific style name for them? How lucky are they to find those chairs and smart to give them a new life, so beautiful. That fabric you used is gorgeous, print and colors. Too bad there weren't at least 4 chairs but 2 are better than none.
Great job re-habbing them.
Was admiring that gorgeous high boy in back ground, would love to have that.
Have wonderful weekend

Such a lovely work you did. You reincarnated this old chair and give it a new fresh life. After this, I can believe in magic. When I want to refresh thoughts about writing my essays I buy already written essays online and have more time to think about the next task.
