I found this table at a sale last weekend and decided to get it ready for the store.
I was looking to do something for a garden area or bedside table and came up with this.
This is what it looked like before:
This is what it looks like now!
I decided to paint something on top to give it some interest.
I sanded away a lot of the paint to distress it.
Do you think I should sand more of the butterfly? I couldn't decide.
Not only did blogger keep going down but now picassa web is screwing up. Very frustrating!
Remember the giveaway? I am glad I kept it up for 2 weeks with the mess with blogger.

lovely,, I am always amazed at what you decor people can do with something, crappy,, (not that this is crappy) but you know what I mean,, transforming things into beautiful objects,, hey just like a BUTTERFY,,, (honestly I didn't plan that) lol,,
ReplyDeleteLove your makeover! I love sanding... It would look very vintage with more sanding on the butterfly, but it's also very pretty as it is! I did a table exactly the same shape several years ago in a beachy theme!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking to Farmgirl Friday!

That table is the perfect little garden accent - too sweet! I guess if you're looking for opinions, I'd maybe sand the butterfly just a wee bit - not much tho 'cuz it's looking really good as it is! Congratulations to Veronica - lucky gal!!! And thank you, again, Deneen, for hostessing another wonderful giveaway. I'm sure Veronica is tickled pink! Good luck with the store debut! ReplyDeleteI can't tell for sure from the provided image if the butterfly should be distressed more. I think I would have to see more pics or see it in person. But, I will say that distressing the painted elements, even important parts, usually makes the piece look more authentically time worn. It's a beauty though. :)
ReplyDeleteThe table is great!
ReplyDeleteLove the butterfly!..I'm sure it will be very popular as is!
