Making Old New Again

One of the things I enjoy most is looking at an item that I can change or enhance. The best way to do this is through yard sales, thrift stores and if you are really lucky, picking.

Last week I stopped by the Goodwill store looking for a new project. They really didn't have much but I found a little clip that drew my attention.

Ever since my daughter was young she wanted to act on stage. This love has followed her throughout her life. So when she was small I started saying she was my little star. I began buying her things with stars on it and giving them to her before a show and sometimes on closing night. It has been a tradition.

She got all different things.                               Decorations......

                                                                        Jewelry,,,,,,

                                                                 Souvenirs from vacations....

                                                                    Bath products...

                                                                        Clothing...

                                                                  Graduations Gifts...

                                                                  Dorm Accessories...

As you can see lots of stars. So when I came across this at the Goodwill for 99 cents I thought it would be cute hanging in her dorm. I painted it to match her sorority colors and personalized it. This is the before and after picture.

This is cute but the color was all wrong. With a little paint it was new again.

I think this star clip will look adorable in her dorm room. Another way to make something old new again with very little money.

And it helps me to do something for her while she is gone from home and I sit missing her.
