One of my recent coffee sack designs was covering pumpkins. I did stamped pumpkins and coffee sack covered ones. They were a big hit at the barn sale.
One other project I did was covering a vintage stool.
I just love the graphic on this one. One thing I tried to do was to keep it off center. I felt it made it more interesting to look at. I also loved the wrapping of words on the side of it.
Here is another angle. I love the colors too. It made a huge difference from the boring covering that used to be on it. It makes a great foot stool!
What do you think? Have you used Coffee Sacks for anything?
I feel a giveaway coming soon! Be on the lookout!!
When I moved into my house the former owners left a headboard made from padded squares of coffee sacks. There were also great valances over the windows. I took everything down to change the room, but I'm using 2 of the printed pieces on my fall front porch for a pillow and table cover. I haven't decided what to do with the rest. I also bought some really cool ones at an estate sale. I want to make a large bag out of one of them, but I'm concerned about the shedding fibers - don't want them all over my clothes. A stool cover is a great idea. Love the blue on yours.
ReplyDeletethat is a nice change. love how it's not centered. great job!
ReplyDeleteI love your stool. So awesome. It has inspired me to cover an ottoman hubs is making for me. It's pretty much a work in progress for awhile til we can get the casters for the legs. I want to be able to move the ottoman without getting a hernia.
ReplyDeleteI came upon a coffee sack last week at our local thrift store. For a minute I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Believe me I grabbed that baby up immediately. Didn't know how much it was but I was going to buy it if I had to go hungry for rest of month.
My bag is alot darker and closer weave burlap which I love and it's a softer texture. I did take it apart, front from back so I could use the back for a pillow. Thinking about cutting it in four squares so I can make 4 pillow covers with it. Put transfers on the squares.
Where do you find all your coffee sacks? Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
