Haven, Flat, House, Home.

Whatever the word you use, it has meaning to you.

When I think of the word home I think of Design and Family.

I love creating in my home. When I do I like to share it here on my blog. Many times I will give you a step by step tutorial that can help you produce it yourself. I have done a few things with birds before like Turning a birdcage into a chandelier.

Today I will teach you How to make a birdhouse lamp.

This is one of my favorite projects to date. It just looks so cute. All it took was a really cool lamp I picked up at Old Time Pottery. It is one of those fill lamps.

Country Living Fair 2015 Giveaway

I am so excited to be going to the Country Living Fair again this year. I am even more excited that it will be held in Lebanon, Tennessee! I had a chance to go to the Atlanta,GA Country Living Fair right before I opened my store, Dreamingincolor. Talk about inspiration! There was so much to see and what great items to purchase. I wrote about it here.

One of the many highlights was getting to meet Cari from Cash and Cari on HGTV. Such an eye for vintage and design.

She will be featured again at the Country Living Fair next weekend. The infamous American Picker Mike Wolfe will be there too. I hope to meet him. I have to say I watch all the shows sometimes twice. I am weird like that. Ha!

For all that don't know, Mike has a place in downtown Nashville at Marathon Village called Antique Archaeology.

There is so much art and vintage in one place. I will be going with a group of friends and bloggers. I hope to buy some neat things for the store too.

So why am I telling you about this?

French Chest Country Chic Paint

Whether you are new to this site or not you will notice real fast what I do around here!

Color and design is a passion of mine and has been for as long as I can remember.

I love to paint and that lends to the design work. One of the reasons I started carrying Country Chic Paint in my store Dreamingincolor, is because of the wonderful colors and packaging design. The way it can be manipulated, as an artist, is a strong point too, not to mention NO VOC's!

This week Country Chic Paints introduced its new 2015 Limited Edition spring colors. I used one of the new colors on the drawers of this chest. Pink lemonade. Pink Lemonade is a light coral/pink color. It looks great paired with Midnight Sky.

I also kept the original color on the pulls. They really are the jewelry on this piece.
