Bedroom Makeover

Refreshed and Revamped
Great words to use for the new year.

I took a needed break from the store so I could be refreshed and revamped to be more productive this year. I feel very behind but once I get back in the groove it will be creativity city around here.

I started at home to help boost my mood.
I don't know about you but the grey days are too much when you live in a place that celebrates the winter season. This is the time of year when everything looks dull.

I needed a quick fix!

I started in my bedroom. I have a monochromatic look. Too much beige!
I really don't have the time for a complete bedroom makeover. So with a trip to Old Time Pottery and a focus on color and texture, I created a mini makeover by revamping and refreshing an old tired bedroom! It took only 15 minutes.

This can also be called makeover on a budget. Although I rarely buy bed sets in a bag, it was great for this quick fix. I got lucky and found this set during the Old Time Pottery white sale.
Now I have a look that is Revamped and Refreshed for under $50.

Working with textures makes things look richer. This set had 6 pieces. I used the patterns and textures of the pillows and built a pallet. Coordinating some of the hues and placing the colors around the room, made this all come together.

I am sharing this before and after makeover at the Old Time Pottery Blog! You won't believe the difference! I hope you head over and tell me what you think.

French Lingerie Chest

One of the best things about picking, hunting and having a store is the unique items you find.
This piece's finish wasn't my favorite but I knew paint could help change all that.
I think a lingerie chest is unique don't you?

I mean, it is very handy, love the shape and how many people have one of these now?

Floral Chair

Click Here for Giveaway! Ends October 27th!

A fabric store in the area is going out of business. All the fabric they carry has to be ordered. That may be why they are closing. I happened to stop in the other day to see what they were getting rid of.

I asked if they were still selling things and they said yes but the material still had to be ordered. I asked if I could buy the sample. They said yes.....and it was cheap!

Since redecorating my craft room and moving my toy box turned storage chest in there I needed to put something in my hall.

I found a chair that I bought to sell then decided to keep it for that space. Does that ever happen to you? I just fell in love with the lines. Then I upholstered in my new material!

These are the colors in my hallway. So I painted the chair in Aubusson Blue and lightly distressed it.
I knew this would look great next to my painted hutch.

I think it is the perfect touch for the room!

The best part is that the whole project cost $14!!

I love projects like this,

It now makes walking into the house a cheerful welcome!
Would you have kept it or sold it?
