"As you’ve probably heard, the popular Google Friend Connect (“GFC”) is going away March 1st for non-Google blog platforms like Wordpress, and the scuttlebutt it will be eventually phased out completely to be replaced by Google+. GFC was never really so much an “I follow this blog” tool as it was an attempt at the whole Facebook “friend, like” concept.
Bloggers need a good “follower” tool and one that is not tied to a million other services (seems like Facebook, Twitter and Google are linked to everything else on the Internet). It needs to be simple, fast, easy-to-use and reliable. . I don't want to loose any of my precious followers. I decided to join Linky Followers.
Please take some time and go to the right and click on my Linky Follower button and start following through there. It will keep us connected!!!

French Desk and Giveaway Winner
I am so excited about this piece of furniture that my mother and father found for me. It is french provincial and the shape is wonderful!
I had a customer see it and wanted it before it was even painted. A great thing since she can pick out the color before it goes on the piece.
It started out the usual white with gold trim.

It started out the usual white with gold trim.
It has a top hutch
It also has a drop down desk on the bottom piece.
I painted it in a two-tone dark and light grey. I left all of the hardware original.
I highlighted the details in the carvings with dark first then dry brushed the grey.
I found this oval frame on The Graphics Fairywww.thegraphicsfairy.com and transferred it to the front of the desk to add some interest.
I didn't want it to be so ornate so I adjusted it to be a little simpler.
I hand-painted the inside of the pattern with the dark grey and added the customers last name initial to the center. Then I distressed it so it look like it had been there awhile.
I waxed the desk to give it longevity.
I love the way it turned out! It is a piece no one will have in there home!
Lots of exciting things happening this week! That is why I am a day late on posting the giveaway winner,
The winner of the custom sign is
Lavender Dreamer
Please contact me within 48 hours to claim your prize and tell me what you would like me to paint for you! Congratulations!!!
I can't wait to begin!!

Vintage Marketplace Excursion
I live about 40 minutes from Hendersonville, Tennessee where The Vintage Marketplace is being held. My friend Mary and I decided to get there early so we can see all the great things that are available. The thought of fighting traffic during the morning commute weighed heavily on our mind due to that fact we would have to leave a 5am to avoid this!
So we did what any other normal person would do.....we left the night before and rented a hotel!! LOL
We had a blast and laughed all night, We looked at all of your blogs as an "opener" for the event! You know, something to get us excited before we went. The problem was it didn't take much to get our mind set on creating.
We laughed till we dropped at 4am and awoke at 7am to get ready for the day. The adrenaline kept us going. There was sooooo much eye candy and inspiration.
To the right there were booths of Antiques and to the left was all vintage.
I loved this birdhouse/shelf!
OMG! This red sink was to die for!!!!
Beautiful vintage buttons in every color imaginable!
Handmade fashions! Mary modeling a beautiful jacket made from a lace tablecloth.

French Provincial Dresser Set
Before I go any further I want you to ENTER the GIVEAWAY going on! CLICK HERE!
I want to share a find with all of you. It is a yellow french provincial dresser set. I don't have the heart to paint it yet. The details are beautiful and I just put the set in the store as is.
The drawers are dove-tailed and it is solid.
There are two side table and one tall dresser.
The cabinet opens to reveal three drawers with wooden dividers. The drawers can also be removed to turn it into an armoire to hold a TV.
It is embossed where the scroll design is. I just think it is beautiful. It is in the popular colors of yellow and gray.
Now I just need the special someone to see the beauty in it and purchase it at La Vie En Rose Cottage in Nashville.
Am I right not to paint it? What do you think?
It now graces the window of the store.
I will wait to see what you all think so please let me know!

Duncan Phyfe Style Table
There is a great Giveaway going on right now! Enter at bottom of post!
I have painted a lot of things but never have I painted a table and chairs. I don't know if I will ever do it again too!
It was a lot of work! I had found this at a good deal but that was because the top was damaged. One thing about paint, it makes things look so much better when completed.
I love how the details now show up on the legs.
My poor floors are getting a beating! Can't wait for it to get warmer so I can paint outside.
I don't have the chairs uploaded from my phone yet so I will have to post about them another time.
The painting took a lot of time but the end results totally transformed the feel and style of this piece.
It sold already! Hurray! It will be awhile before I get another one though!

It was a Duncan Phife style table that had two butterfly leaves and extended to 8 feet.
I painted it with ASCP first then covered the top with a Glidden Latex paint in black.
The legs are Paris Gray with dark wax.

How to organize spray bottles
Enter the Giveaway at the end of post!
We are all organizing our things this month. Seems that January is the start of a new year and it makes us reevaluate the space that surrounds us.
When I bought my house a few years ago there were some things that remained with the house. One of those things was a paper towel holder that was attached to the inside cabinet under the kitchen sink.
Not very exciting is it? I really don't use it for its intended use. As a matter of fact it is in the way.
I really didn't want to remove it. Mainly because of the holes. (I know I can fill them in!) I guess when I close the cabinet door I just didn't care about it anymore.
Then when I was organizing the cabinet the other day, I tried something new. I hung all the spray bottles I have on it! WOW! It turned out to be a great idea. It freed up a lot of spacefor more junk!
So being the friend that I am, I am sharing this idea with you!! Hope it helps with your projects!

The Cutest Little Clothespins!
Giveaway for a custom sign HERE!
I did a little project the other day that was useful and cute!
I started with a very plain antique frame that I spruced up with paint.
I wanted to make a memo board so I attached some chicken wire to the frame.
Then I made the cutest little clothespins.
I stamped out five music sheets in a 1 inch circle.
Bent the sides up of the circle and sewed a button to attach paper together. Glued some scrapbook paper to the clothespin and glued flower to the center.
I just love the way the came out. I did a set of white and a set of blue. Attached them to the frame with a little Valentine vignette.
