Paper Christmas Trees

What a great way to say Happy Holidays or in the case "Hollydays"!

This is an easy project that would make a great Christmas decoration or gift.

I took three clay pots and painted them with chalk paint.
Cut foam to fit inside.
Placed a wooden skewer in the center.
Cut squares of Hymnals in graduated sizes and poked pages to the top.
Added green moss and snow to cover foam.

My idea was to find a holly graphic from The Graphics Fairy and transfer the image to the pot.

You could use any image. Karen always has the best ones. The are so many to choose from. I liked the vintage Santa too.  Just modpodge and use printed image print side down on pot and rub really well. Thats it! peel up and the calk paint absorbs the image right away.

I used a sharpie and hand wrote "Happy Hollydays" on the other trees pots.

I think these would look cute on a fireplace mantel.

I love quick easy projects like this!

What image would you try?

French Desk and Giveaway Winner

I am so excited about this piece of furniture that my mother and father found for me. It is french provincial and the shape is wonderful!

I had a customer see it and wanted it before it was even painted. A great thing since she can pick out the color before it goes on the piece.

It started out the usual white with gold trim.

It has a top hutch
It also has a drop down desk on the bottom piece.

I painted it in a two-tone dark and light grey. I left all of the hardware original.

I highlighted the details in the carvings with dark first then dry brushed the grey.

I found this oval frame on The Graphics Fairywww.thegraphicsfairy.com and transferred it to the front of the desk to add some interest.

I didn't want it to be so ornate so I adjusted it to be a little simpler.

I hand-painted the inside of the pattern with the dark grey and added the customers last name initial to the center. Then I distressed it so it look like it had been there awhile.

I waxed the desk to give it longevity.

I love the way it turned out! It is a piece no one will have in there home!

Lots of exciting things happening this week! That is why I am a day late on posting the giveaway winner,
