Decorating for any holiday can be expensive. There are several things you can do that can help with the cost.
First, you should look around the house and try to re-purpose things you already own.
Another way is to bring the outside in. I like to use branches and pine cones. You can spray paint branches and use them to create different vignettes.
One of my favorite things to do is use paper. Last year at Halloween I cut black bats and mice out of construction paper that I had left over from kid projects. I taped them to the walls and fireplace. I created a Sleepy Hollow Mantel. I even used some to create this chalkboard. The scrap wood I had in the shed!
This year I went to The Graphics Fairy and browsed her great graphics!
I downloaded her Man in the Moon graphic and grabbed some of my pastels.
I then got some scrap brown paper that was used for packing and began to draw it on.
It isn't perfect but that is ok! Just draw it and have fun. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece!
When you are done you have a free decoration to hang on a door or wall. Now I have to decide where I will hang it. I think it may need a spooky witch flying by.
Remember be creative with things you already have. It doesn't have to cost and arm and a leg, you just need an idea and a little creativity! We are so lucky to have great sites to get free graphics from too!

French Floral Basket
A lot of times I buy something because of the shape. This basket was no exception. The minute I saw it I knew what I wanted to do with it.
It started out a very plain dark brown wicker.
I got sand paper and roughed it up to distress it. It took the shine off and looked weathered.
Then I search The Graphics Fairy for a cute french label. I tape a piece of fabric to paper and ran it through the printer for a great label. (Thanks Graphics Fairy for featuring my Vintage Magnetic Eraser)
I mod podged the fabric to the basket
After nailing it to the wall I wish I had some french baguettes sticking out of it for the picture. This looked to plain. So I got my trusty branched and some lavender and came up with the finished product!
Now that I am moved in to the store in Murfreesboro, I have to get a piece of furniture to the store in Franklin this week. But I have finished my craft room and will reveal it soon! Yay! A project done!! Well somewhat...I still have some bags to go through in my hall shhhhhhhh!

Vintage Magnetic Eraser
For those of you that have been on my Facebook page you already know that I started redoing my craft room. I am up to my shoulders in such a mess!! It keeps on multiplying!! As promised I said I would share some of my projects and pictures.
The first one is a quick project that I did to change up a magnetic eraser I bought from Hobby Lobby.
I will show you how to make it!
I purchased the eraser and thought that the foam blue top was boring but I liked the idea that is was magnetic and would stay on my memo board. Since I like adding the old with the new I wanted the eraser to have a vintage feel.
This is what I started with...1.49 ...not too bad but the boring blue had to go!
I found a graphic on The Graphic Fairy's site that I felt fit the look I wanted and printed it out.
I turned the eraser upside down and traced the shape keeping the graphic centered. Then I cut it out.
I used spray adhesive to glue it down and used my rubber roller to press it in and bond it to the top!
I used some antiquing paints and inks to make it look older. I blotted the paint around the front and used the ink for the sides.
There you have it!! Very simple but an idea that can be very versatile. Add a chevron print, ABC's anything you wish. The best part is that is stays on the metal so you can keep up with it!
One project done it the craft room.....Now I have to tackle the rest of it!~
Told you I have lots of organizing to do! Anyone want to help?!!!!
