Fall Light-Up Topiary

Don't you just love fall?

All the beautiful colors and textures are everywhere. Once again I find myself decorating and sprucing up the house. I am always looking for a way to create something. Last year I decorated outside with some fun budget friendly ideas. This year I am looking for table ideas.

I just love all the fall decor out there. The pumpkins come in all different colors, textures and sizes.
When I came across this Owl candle holder I knew I would incorporate all this in my design.

Apple Cake

This time of year always brings me back in time.

A time growing up in the north with all the beautiful trees turning colors. Hometown football games and family get togethers. We use to go to the pumpkin patch where they made cinnamon donuts and pressed harvested apples for homemade apple cider. The smell of apples and cinnamon in the air was to die for. Funny how smells are so relevant to memories.
I also remember going on one of my dad's famous mystery rides to a farm one year where we purchased bushels of McIntosh apples. My mom baked apple pies, apple fritters, apple crumb, baked apples and whatever else she could come up with. We never got sick of them.

So the first cool day of the year, I wanted to do something with apples. Bring back those wonderful aromas and memories. Apple cake sounded perfect.

I love this made from scratch cake. I used McIntosh Apples of course!
This apple cake will be great all season. I have attached the recipe for you to try.
Warning: this is a very rich cake but you will love it.

Be sure to pin the recipe to keep for later!

Fall Mantel with Pallet Art

Hi Everyone and thanks for stopping by! I shared my living room with you all last week and I had several ask me about my pallet art that sits on my mantel. It is so easy I feel bad to even post about it!

But you like easy right?

Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

Can you smell the cinnamon in the air?

My favorite time of the year is fall. As soon as the air gets cooler, my oven goes on bake.

Sometimes I make pretty decorated cookies and other times I make the old tried and true ones.

Burlap Stamped Pumpkins {tutorial}

It has been awhile since I have posted a craft and what better time to do it than getting ready for fall!
This is easy and affordable.

You will need:
a dollar store pumpkin
stamps and ink pad
twine
burlap strips/scraps
glue or pins

Start with your pumpkin

I love these. They are so much fun to work with. I used them a lot last year.

Gather burlap scraps or cut your own in strips. Start stamping randomly. I used postmarks.

Then start wrapping the pumpkin. You want to end up having both ends of burlap at stem. You can pin or glue to keep stable.

Gather all the strips at stem and start wrapping in twine. Leave some out to tie a knot in. These will be your vines.

See what I mean....EEEasy!! It cost me $1 for the pumpkin. The rest was scrap or what I had on hand.

Would you make one of these?

Have you been working on your fall designs yet?
