My Blogiversary Giveaway!

I thought about it all weekend. I wanted to do something worthy of all my precious followers! I wanted to do something that really represented me. Something to celebrate ONE year of blogging! I knew I couldn't do a piece of furniture since it would be to hard to ship. So I thought I would give you a service.

I hand paint signs and also do vinyl signs. Sometimes I just do them to relax. Sometimes I do them for order. Either way, I decided I would offer a custom sign to the winner of my giveaway. Something that they can decide color and content.

It also could be one of the signs I have already done.  This is my new one!

I took the inspiration from something I had seen on the internet.

So you tell me what do YOU want! The size and creativity will be up to me!

French Painted Tea Cart

I have had this tea cart sitting around for a while. There are always those projects that get "filtered" back in my rooms. When I get a lot of furniture and I don't know what I am going to do with it yet, it becomes part of the decor.

This little piece was charming and I felt it needed a little something extra. So I pulled it out from being a makeshift side table and began painting.

I found a graphic from the one and only Graphic Fairy and added it to the drop leaf. I used a projector for this one.
I love the way it turned out. . I did add a little distressing to it.  Distressing helps hide the imperfections in the lettering.

I will be away for a few days as my daughter and I will being taking a trip to New York City to see a show! This is her favorite place to be since she is a theatre major. As you can see we have been there before.....we never get tired of the hustle and bustle!

We are very excited and I promise to take pictures so I can share with you all!

Hope your year has started off right for you! See you soon!!!

French Piano Bench

I am so excited about this project! It took me awhile to come up with the idea that I wanted for it. Of course everyone said paste music to it but you know me.....looking for something different.

I started with this vintage piano bench.

The greatest thing about this is it has storage!

I knew that the color had to change after all that what my blog is all about!

I decided to paint the top in a cream color and the bottom black.

I knew I wanted to do something french so I found a print from

It is an old french postcard.

I distressed the top with distressing glaze.

I had wooden knobs leftover from my dresser redo project. They were old and worn.

I wanted to use them on the front of the bench. I also wanted to incorporate the french theme of the handwritten postcard.

I had some scrapbook paper left from my blue cabinet makeover so I cut circles and Mod Podged them to the front of the knob.

Then I went to my stamp collection. I rummaged through and picked out the french stamps I wanted and copied them on a printer. I did not want to use the originals. I cut them and Mod Podged them to the scripted paper.

These will be applied to the front and back of bench.
I hand painted a projected image on the top.

Very french oo la la!

Then with a heavy hand I began to sand the heck out of it.

I then attached three knobs to the front and three to the back. I even painted and signed the inside of the lid. I applied fabric toile to the inside.

 This is the back

I love the knobs!

This has to be one of my favorite projects to date!
