New Pinterest Board and Some Awesome Furniture

I finally got on the Pinterest bandwagon! At first, I just did it for myself.

......occasionally

Now I have boards set up and keep creating more.....it is a sickness....lol

My new board is Awesome Painted Furniture and it is a group board. A board where I invite people to participate in pinning their furniture projects

Blue, Grey and White Dresser

One of the things I love to do is play with paint. I guess that's no surprise if you have read my blog for awhile.

When you have painted as much furniture as I, you get tired of the same old thing. That is when creativity strikes! Another thing you may know about me is I like changing things up. Sometimes I hand- paint furniture, like my Audrey Hepburn dresser, and other times I may write on a piece as you may have seen on my Black French Hutch.
My favorite thing is blending paint colors, like what I did recently with my French Farmhouse Hutch.
This project was playing with paint again. The Blue, Grey and White Dresser had so many wonderful details.

Look at this carving on the top.........gorgeous!

My layering technique gives it a very aged patina. The detailing on the dresser allowed me to highlight certain areas with color.

Love the legs on this too. All the layers of colors and the waxes make this even more distressed and gives it dimension.

That is why I love Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan. Aubusson, Pure White and French Linen was used to achieve this look

All the original hardware was left because it is beautiful. It added to the character of the piece.

I've liked playing with paint ever since I was a little girl. There is something so peaceful about applying paint with my brush in hand. I guess that's why I like painting furniture so much because I am creating a piece of art.

And when you get to create something you never did before it is even more of an accomplishment.
Love how the manipulation of the paint gave it this effect.

It could have been the beautiful sun shining through the windows today but I was inspired.

Happy Spring!

White Buffet

Getting back to work after a nice break and feeling refreshed! I just finished a white buffet that I am loving! It has that shabby chic appeal to it. I love buffets. I recently moved my dining room buffet into the living room for my TV.

I know, I said I would never move it!! Never say never.

This buffet is different than any I have done before. That always makes it fun.

I absolutely love all the details. I light painted over them and let the natural wood shine through. I love the spindly legs.

It is painted in white and waxed in clear. I let the paint technique be the distressing.

I left the original hardware on it and add a little paint to them also.

I have changed the hardware before on this buffet but when the hardware is awesome I leave it.

The drawers in this piece are awesome. One with dividers and the other is so deep.
Yes I hid some of my Christmas stuff in it. (You got me)

This is the before

Don't mind my mess!!

I know this piece won't last long. If it doesn't sell I don't mind having it for awhile :)

Buffet and hutches are my favorite thing to paint and sell!

Do you have a favorite thing to sell? What is it?
Every area is different. What sells best for you?
