Easter Pallet

My new thing is storing pallets that are put together so I can decorate with them. I used them for my paper flower and for mounting various merchandise that I get in the store.
It has been fun getting in all the spring items that past couple of weeks. It is hard not to go home with everything I love.

I found the cutest bunny and I knew I was going to have fun decorating with him. I wanted him to be the centerpiece for the spring season

A pallet bunny was what I decided. Bunnies are one of the things I think of when I hear spring.

Every spring growing up meant getting the bicycle out and enjoying the fresh air and beautiful blooms that surrounded our home.  I had some glorious days on my bicycle. I would ride everywhere. We didn't worry about all the things we worry about today.

This project brought back those memories.

Layered Patina Painted Hutch

I am really excited to show you another layered technique I have done. This time I used 7 different paint colors. I paint furniture like I paint canvas. One of the things I like to do when I paint, is study my subject. So I decided to start studying patinas.

I have started a Patina Pinterest board. From texture to colors and chippiness will get pinned there.

I used the same technique for the layered patina painted hutch as I did for my french end tables. The difference is the amount of colors and type of paint. I used Annie Sloan for the end tables and my new paint Country Chic for this hutch.

I started with my signature color paint Dreamingincolor. That is the base color that start the layered patina painted hutch.

Dreamingincolor Open House

Dreamingincolor opens its doors for Christmas goodness!

An Open House for my first Christmas in the store!

I have been away from here for awhile. I have missed you all. My husband has been in the hospital.
He is doing ok now but it happened the day before the open house last weekend.

Needless to say, it has been a crazy December.

Me and my Skate Wreath. You can see how tired I was in this picture.....

Ice Skate Wreath

I was never really good at ice skating. My parent's got me lessons one year and I remember being really excited.

Growing up in New Jersey, it was the thing to do.

We had a shallow lake near by that would freeze over in the winter. Everyone would go skate on it when it got cold.

And sometimes, if I was really lucky, I would get to go to NYC and skate in Rockefeller Center!

So Long, Farewell.....

It is a bittersweet goodbye......

I redo a lot of things and paint a lot of furniture and canvas. Some are just so hard to say goodbye to!

Do you recognize this?

It was just a few weeks ago that this posted and was featured on the web here.

I believe I took it to the store on July 15th

Well yesterday when I arrived this is what I saw!

Store display and items

I love getting inspiration when I shop. I feel we have some great boutiques in and around Nashville.

Here are some of the great finds in the stores I visited.
