Beautiful Paper

I got to get away a few days with some girlfriends of mine. We went to Atlanta! This is the third year we have gotten together. We always have a blast. We ate at a few good places, celebrated Day of the Dead at a Mexican Restaurant and Cantina and shopped till we dropped!

While I was there I picked up a few things to create with. One of those things was this beautiful paper.

When I saw it I knew it had to go inside my piano bench! I have fallen in love with papers before. I love the colors and the art work. One of my favorites was my red hutch with birds. I also loved the little french cabinet.
Both have sold! I think it is important to say that I think papers set a piece aside to be different. They make something "One -of-a-Kind"! I don't use them on everything. It needs to be special. I have to get a feeling of a kind of "marriage" if you will, it has to fit.

The difference with this one is that it will go on the inside. It will make for a wonderful surprise!

It adds a little something special to an already different piece. I took the pictures at night so the color isn't right, darn!

Well I thought it was done but to my surprise this paper showed up to take it to the next level.

Have you ever added to a piece you thought you were done with?

The Effects of Gamma Rays

This weekend I made a trip to Atlanta. Some of the best times are spent there! I love to go there to shop and I even made a trip to do an HGTV pilot this past summer. The most exciting thing for me though is when I go see my daughter perform on stage.

This play written by Paul Zindel is "The Effects of Gamma Rays on Man-In-The-Moon Marigolds.

Catherine played "Ruth" a girl with many problems who is mentally unstable. A great role with many dimensions. One of her dream roles.

Unfortunately the pictures always come out weird because of the lighting. Also I am not much of a photographer!

I always love watching her facial expressions on stage and off!!

The bunny named Peter real name T-Pain lol.

Although it was kind of a depressing play, I still enjoyed the meaning behind it.

I usually do something for Catherine as a keepsake for her plays. She has had so many that she can look back on and remember.

This one was hard for me. I decided to make her something. So out came the good ole peat pot.

I stamped her character name on the back.

Ripped out a dictionary page with the definition of Gamma Rays and Mod-Podged to the pot along with a print of the program.

Filled it with marigold seeds and a diffuser with a bloom on top. Added some money and presto a keepsake for her to remember.
Over the years I have made many things. I love doing something special to represent the plays. Of course flowers are great but getting something that represents the actual play is priceless. I hope she will look back at this someday and remember all the great roles she has had.

Catherine will be performing February 23, 24, and 25th with  Georgia Shakespeare's production of "Blind Ed" If you are in Atlanta come check it out and support the arts!! Will be held at the Conant Theater on the Oglethorpe University Campus.

I've shopped, I've dropped, I've moved, I don't stop!!!

Wow it has been a long time it seems that I have spoken with all of you! I have completed another Christmas open house and a trip to Atlanta! One more Christmas craft festival to go! I wanted to share pictures of my week with you all.

I had the pleasure of shopping at a wonderful Christmas store with the girls of La Vie En Rose. We made a day of it spending lots of money, laughs and dinner! The place had beautiful things!

I set up for the Christmas Open House at La Vie En Rose with a lot of help from my friend Mary whom I will never be able to thank enough. She helped me move furniture and set up. Thank you Mary!!!!

This was one of the beautiful windows.
My booth!

I am in love with this store! They have the most beautiful pieces of furniture. Since opening 3 weeks ago, Jenny, the owner, has sold out of things at least 3 times! The crowd is amazing that come in to the store. The love it so much they send all their friends.

I have sold here more than anywhere I have been. I hope it keeps being amazing because this is my NEW place. I will no longer be at the Three French Hens so if you have been shopping my booth please come see me at La Vie En Rose! You won't be sorry you did.

Caution: You might get addicted to shopping there!

Jenny had an amazing open house and I finally sold my vanity!! Woohoo!

Christmas is now in full swing!

After I set up my booth I went to the Bunganut Pig in Murfreesboro to see my son's band New Found Soul perform all their original songs.

He is the lead singer and guitarist. I am so proud of him. He writes the most amazing songs and music! I love listening to them and know they will go far. My nephew is also in the band. The one with the hat. Listen and please "like" them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/#!/newfoundsoul

The next morning I drove to Atlanta with my sister-in-law Cindy to see my daughter perform in Cider House Rules and to shop, shop, shop!!!

I love watching her on stage because she lights it up! So So proud of both my kids!!!
Had a blast shopping for Christmas at Ikea and many other stores in Atlanta. Filled my car to the top!
When I came home I move out of one store and in to another. Now I am ready to sell it all out!!

Thanksgiving is approaching and I will have my whole family here at my house. The next few days I will be cleaning like a mad woman.

I am so thankful to have such good friends and family! I am thankful to have all of you here too! It is fun to share all of this with you. Thanks for being here!
