Note:although I have been supplied with paints, all ideas and opinions are my own
I am in love with this project and just had to share this with you today! I love pallet art and have worked with different mediums to achieve a creative look from time to time. So when I was approached by Modern Masters to review this effects paint, I was so excited. To be honest, I didn't think it would work. At the least, I didn't think it would look good! That was till I used it for my Cowboy Pallet Art!
So let me start from the beginning......
I sell these wooden letters in my store Dreamingincolor.
I had an idea to attach these letters to a pallet/cedar shingle.
I white washed the wood quickly and started on my new technique.
There are three steps to make this work. I used the metal effects primer (2 coats) on the letter and let dry completely.
I then applied the iron paint to the top and again painted two coats. While it dried....
I attached the letter to the wood piece with upholstery tacks and continued.
I applied the rust activator.
There are tiny particles of metal in the paint so when the activator is applied it turns it rusty.
I waited and waited. I didn't see anything happening. Just pools of solution.
And then IT happened!!!
It was amazing! Right before my eyes it turned to rust. I am over-the-top excited about this paint and the possibilities! Way to go Modern Masters! I love something different!
Did I mention the upholstery tacks are rusty too?
I can't wait to make more and I will be custom making these at the store too!
Want to give it a try?
Dreamingincolor will be carrying this paint soon!

I love this Deneen! My flea market buddy has started using this paint and it has been so much fun to see her creations. Your letters are perfect!
I hope your new shop is doing a stupendous business. I've missed stopping by to comment for awhile as I've been on a little break.
Blessings to you,
Patti
