Blue, Grey and White Dresser

One of the things I love to do is play with paint. I guess that's no surprise if you have read my blog for awhile.

When you have painted as much furniture as I, you get tired of the same old thing. That is when creativity strikes! Another thing you may know about me is I like changing things up. Sometimes I hand- paint furniture, like my Audrey Hepburn dresser, and other times I may write on a piece as you may have seen on my Black French Hutch.
My favorite thing is blending paint colors, like what I did recently with my French Farmhouse Hutch.
This project was playing with paint again. The Blue, Grey and White Dresser had so many wonderful details.

Look at this carving on the top.........gorgeous!

My layering technique gives it a very aged patina. The detailing on the dresser allowed me to highlight certain areas with color.

Love the legs on this too. All the layers of colors and the waxes make this even more distressed and gives it dimension.

That is why I love Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan. Aubusson, Pure White and French Linen was used to achieve this look

All the original hardware was left because it is beautiful. It added to the character of the piece.

I've liked playing with paint ever since I was a little girl. There is something so peaceful about applying paint with my brush in hand. I guess that's why I like painting furniture so much because I am creating a piece of art.

And when you get to create something you never did before it is even more of an accomplishment.
Love how the manipulation of the paint gave it this effect.

It could have been the beautiful sun shining through the windows today but I was inspired.

Happy Spring!

I would love for you to follow me here!

That came out just great Deneen! I love it! The layering on the legs looks great!I have a LOT of layering on my legs but for some reason they just look fat! Must be the wrong color or something....
