I realized after visiting the store on Friday that I have no white furniture! I sold the white end table I had with the painted butterfly.
Color is something I adore.
I am sure that the neutrals sell better.
So this weekend I used the color white.
Remember the dresser from my sister's wedding?
Knowing that painted furniture sells better than unpainted right now I decided to paint this to sell!
I really loved it just the way it was but I am not keeping it.
I painted it all and heavily distressed it. I left a lot of the crackled finish to come through.
Yes Lesley those are your mushrooms!
I played around with the finish on this one and how I painted it.
Looked at it more like art.
added these gorgeous knobs
Laid the mirror on top instead of putting it back together since it is going to the store.
The woman that sold me this piece said it was from the 1800's.
Not sure but it is old. You can tell by the construction.
I love my color but every now and again I guess white is ok for me!

This one of your projects that had me a little nervous....I liked the piece as it was and am hesitant to mess with something when it's fairly liveable of that age. But I like it - I really like the white! The heavier distressing just makes it so "believeable!" Another nice transformation Deneen! Have a great week ahead! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
That looks great. I like the weathered look on this piece. Thanks for sharing at my newbie party.
I looks fantastic Deneen. I would have a had time parting with it.
this is so gorgeous!
LOVE IT!! Martina
Girl, this dresser will sell IMMEDIATELY!!!! When you paint in neutrals, black, white, khaki....the pieces are so SELL-ABLE! I don't think that's a word though :) After owning the antique store for several years, I finally figured this out. I love your painting technique too ~ just GORGEOUS!! Let me know if it sells fast...cause I got a feeling! hugs and love, Dawn
