Red Hutch with Chicken Wire

There is blackberry in the house!

and strawberry

and blueberry!

We now carry an assortment of local homemade jams! Since I am located down the street from Historic Oakland House Museum I am hoping to see some tourists this spring and summer. I carry a lot of handmade items from local artisans too.

I was going to put them in this red hutch but it sold.

It was pretty to have for Christmas though. You might have seen it already in this post.

Another French Hutch

I have been MIA for a few days! My laptop bit the dust and I have been on vacation at the beach! Let me just say it is very hard to get back into the swing of things when you have been away!

Before I left, I finished another french hutch! This client wanted the french hutch I did a few months ago but it had sold. So the day I got the email that she wanted to order one, was the day I just happened to find one and was on my way home with it! Funny how these things happen!

Black Painted Hutch

Seems like painting furniture is all I am doing lately but I guess that is a good thing. It means I am selling it!

During my move to the new store, I wanted to add some new pieces to my space. I had a hutch that needed some redo. I knew it would look great painted and changed up. Something for display with the holidays approaching.

The before! Bad nighttime pictures but you get the gist of it.

I painted with a black latex paint and added some great knobs.

Love the finish on this piece.

This made a great statement in my booth. I love decorating hutches. There are so many ways to utilize the space.

Ready to be in someone's home. I need to sell it now to make space for all the great furniture I just purchased for my space.

Today my friend Mary moves into her new space in the front of La Vie En Rose and I will be helping!! She is so creative I hope you all come and check out her booth. (Located in Lenox Village Nashville Tennessee).

Tomorrow is my birthday and I will have something very special on the blog to celebrate. Hint Hint!!!

I hope you all are getting ready for the holidays! I can't wait to see what everyone is up to. I will have some crafts going up soon too for all of you to try. Can't believe December is here already!!

Red Painted Hutch with Birds

It all started on the 84 mile yard sale. My last stop was in Leiper's Fork. I had remembered stopping at Serenite Mason before and seeing such wonderful papers! I knew I had to go buy some as I passed through.

It was the sweetest bird/postage stamp/french paper I had ever seen! I loved it! This became my inspiration for my new hutch.

Well new isn't the correct word! It looked like this when I got it.

It needed some work but lucky for me that's what I like to do! See those doors? Remember them!
I painted this hutch red. I know I have done a painted red hutch before but that one is mine. Although it will be hard to part with this one, it is going to The Three French Hens for our Christmas Open House on Nov 5th! So if you like it come on down and see what else we got or better yet you can purchase this one!

I did something different with this one. I put it in the bathroom. WHAT?
Yes I love it in there because of all the storage.

You can put all your lotions and potions on the shelves.

All your handmade soaps and bath crystals

The fun for me came with those doors. Always striving to do something different then what I have seen, I began to mod podge the beautiful paper I bought to the front of the doors!

I am in LOVE!!!
Then I antiqued the paper so it wouldn't look so new by staining it around the outside and some in the middle.

Isn't this paper to die for? I am so glad I remembered it! It totally transformed this piece.
And then.......I added some hand painted knobs to the the drawers and doors.

LOVE AGAIN!!!

Great Knobs+beautiful paper+vintage hutch=LOVE

This one is my favorite to date. What do you think?
