Grey and White Antique Dresser

Sometimes a piece of furniture comes along and in a blink it is gone! Like my blue and white dresser.
and….That is what happened with this one.

Kinda…

Although I had it for almost a year totally painted and ready to go, I simply forgot about it.

I know, crazy girl!

I mean I knew it was there but other pieces were bought and painted and sold while this lonely little thing sat in storage.

A grey and white antique dresser waiting patiently to be in someone's home!

Bella Rustica Barn Sale 2013

Hello friends! What a busy weekend!

Gosh was it Hot!!

Saturday was spent mainly outside in Lebanon, Tennessee at Legacy Farms. I enjoyed a Hometalk Blogger Meet-up with some area bloggers at Bella Rustica, a vintage marketplace and barn sale.

It was at a new location this year. If you remember I was a vendor last year. My booth was Micucci Designs. I had a blast but it was tons of work! This year I decided to shop instead!
I wish they kept it in October because it was a hot one and made it difficult to really get into it. With that said, there was still a lot of great booths and wonderful rusty junk!

I missed my blogger friends from last year. Donna from Funky Junk Interiors and Sandra from Sawdust Girl kept me laughing and we got to know each other on a more personal level that just behind the screen!

So we got to the gate and waited for it to open.

And What was the first thing I saw?

An Inexpensive Way to Decorate a Blank Wall

Hi Everyone! Glad the week is over and the weekend is soon approaching. If you all have been to my blog you know I have been changing things up in my living room.

Today I will show you how I created an inexpensive way to decorate a blank wall.

I paint a lot of furniture and sometimes I keep it and sometimes I sell it. Sometimes I get rid of too much!
I am always moving things around.
My husband never knows what he will find when he wakes up....he is used to it now. He always has a different place to sit Now the dog is starting to get acclimated to it too!

I can't wait to show you my madness!

Wood and Paint Vanity

No you are not seeing double!

If you were over at Suzan's last week at Simply Vintageous, you probably already got to see this project. I wanted to share it here too!
If you already commented, please comment again! They are always nice to hear!

This is my first piece of furniture I have done in a two-toned look. Leaving some wood and some painted.

I just love having the best of both worlds.

And look at those details!!

Turquoise Jewelry Chest

`Although the 3M clean air system was provided by 3M, all opinions are mine.

Bright and pretty Turquoise!

Shades of blue are throughout my home and in the work that I do. One of my favorite colors is turquoise. Maybe it has something to do with my December birthday. Turquoise is my birthstone.

I don't know, but it is appealing to me.

In this project I got to go through my blue craft room and turn some junk treasures into a little addition to change up the look and update an old boring jewelry chest.

Furniture Transformations {My Special Guest}

Hi everyone!!! I'm so delighted to be here this morning :) Deneen is my painting soul mate, honestly, I'm in awe of her work ( I know all of you are too ) and her business savvy but most of all I'm totally inspired and jealous of her organizational skills. She planned this morning's switcheroo - you can find her post over at my place!!! Deneen - you have the best ideas ever - thanks for planning this and having me over!!!

Ok first things first - I'm Suzan - and I blog over at Simply Vintageous...by Suzan.  My blog is mainly about furniture restoration peppered with some of the most ridiculous conversations between my husband and myself. I do custom pieces for customers - here are a couple of my all time favorites - ( with some of our conversations stuck in between ) I also redo pieces I've found on my own through Craigs list that are screaming out for a little love.

How to turn a Birdcage into a Chandelier

Blogging helps me with my compulsion of changing things up all the time. Since deciding to redo my living room, I have taken on too many projects. It slows a girl down!
This is something I can mark off my list like my new tufted sofa and Milk painted coffee table!

Do you remember this white birdcage on my French Provincial buffet?

I sold the buffet but kept the birdcage. I had plans for it!

English Yellow End Table

A yellow rose and its meaning. Admiration, joy, friendship

When I hear English Yellow I think of Princess Diana the English Rose. I remember the sadness when she died. Elton John did a tribute to her "Goodbye England's Rose" to the tune of Candle in the Wind"

Goodbye England's rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart
You called out to our country
And you whispered to those in pain
Now you belong to heaven
And the stars spell out your name

Flash forward to today.

We celebrate the birth of a prince! Princess Diana's Son Prince William and his wife Catherine named their son Prince George Alexander. What a celebration!

That is how I view the color yellow. Happy and sad.

What does this have to do with furniture?

Haven Conference {The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly}

Just got back from the Haven Conference in Atlanta. I spent 4 days at the Hyatt in Buckhead with some of the most creative talented women and (some men) that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am ready to buy next years ticket!

I met up with some friends I regularly talk to on Facebook. It was so great to finally meet them in person.
Kirby, Karen  and Lorraine.. she happened to be my roommate.

Chalkboard Labels

With Haven going on right now in Atlanta I thought this post would be appropriate to publish.

One of the special things they do at Haven is give out swag and prizes. If you read my post last year would would have see there were quite a few. I went home with tools, paint and these wine bottles.

Wine Bottles?..... you ask

They were a centerpiece design from Krylon's cocktail party.

To be honest I almost gave them away since I would be traveling back and didn't think I had enough room for them. I had an idea though.

You know that is dangerous!

I had some cute labels hanging around my office.
