Vanity with Country Chic Paint

Being a blogger/artist I have tested many different paints and waxes. I like stunning color, versatility, ease, and coverage as I paint different techniques on furniture. I also need NO VOC's because that is important for our health and environment. Now that a have a store it is important to have paint to offer my customers that does the same.

I am so excited to announce that I will be selling Country Chic Paint!

Painted Vanity Blue and White

Spring has sprung! We are busy around the store with lots of exciting things going on.
I have been working on the porch and front yard of the store.
We have plants, lawn art and porch furniture available. I love the way it makes everything come alive.

I have been painting a lot!! Loving that also. Doing a furniture class at the store on April 26th. So needless to say, I have been busy. Not too busy to notice the beautiful trees blooming! Yay!

I have written this post several times and I am always pulled away. Its all good though!
So let's talk about a painted vanity. Love vanity details and I have done a lot of them.

So,What's new?

Wood and Paint Vanity

No you are not seeing double!

If you were over at Suzan's last week at Simply Vintageous, you probably already got to see this project. I wanted to share it here too!
If you already commented, please comment again! They are always nice to hear!

This is my first piece of furniture I have done in a two-toned look. Leaving some wood and some painted.

I just love having the best of both worlds.

And look at those details!!

Jewelry Box Vanity

I have painted a few vanities before. This was my last one. I also turned a vanity into a desk when my husband accidentally broke the mirror that latter become a clock. Then there was my little niece's vanity that was given to me to redo and sell by my sweet sis. BUT I never quite saw one like this one.

This piece of furniture got me excited. I had never seen one of these. I love finding different pieces. This little gem sat in my sun room awhile till a client asked if I had a vanity. I love when I have someone ask for a piece that I happen to have.

When she found out that this was a special piece, she wanted to get it. She bought it for her daughter and wanted it to go in her room but also be able to go anywhere as she grew. We decided on Annie Sloan's Paris Grey

I slightly distressed it and dry brushed white over the finish. I painted the trim in solid white.

Now why was this so special? I was a jewelry box! A vanity and a jewelry, what a great combination!

This piece can definitely grow with her daughter!

It also had a stool that she was going to cover herself to match her daughter's room.

I love the oval mirror too!

This is the before

This is the after

So I ask you, have you seen one of these before?

Upholstered Stool and Vanity

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.  ~Audrey Hepburn

I felt this quote was fitting for today's post.

I am trying to get back into the swing of things after a long vacation. Between the beach and Haven,  I have lost the momentum I had to keep things on track. Before I left for Haven I stocked up on several pieces of furniture. My shed is full again. I have no room to set up my new Ryobi miter saw I won. So it will sit in the box till I can make room.

One thing I learned from Haven is that the people that stood out were the ones that had beauty in their heart.  What am I talking about? You ask.

The ones you remember took time to teach you a little thing that will help you better your blog.

The ones that made the effort to invite someone to sit at their table so they wouldn't be alone.

The ones that look you in the eye and are really interested in what you are saying.

These are the bloggers that I will visit often!

I started painting a vanity that I had bought before I left.

I loved the shape of the mirror, and it had glass cut to fit the top. It is not very old but it has nice lines. The legs were removed to fit in my car.

It had the cutest little stool but the fabric was worn so I replaced it.

I feel in love with this fabric and have had it for a year! It reminds me of Marie Antoinette. I think it fits the stool perfectly! Look at the curvy legs!

So I took out my brand new Purdy brushes! They are the best!
I used my new sample of Annie Sloan Old Ochre that was in my swag bag from Haven to accent the lines. Louis Blue covered the rest. I distressed it and waxed with clear wax.

Then I put a little girly details on top! Everyone loves to pamper themselves don't they?

Turned into a better after! Love when paint changes the look of the piece.

Ready to be put in the store for sale!
