No you are not seeing double!
If you were over at Suzan's last week at Simply Vintageous, you probably already got to see this project. I wanted to share it here too!
If you already commented, please comment again! They are always nice to hear!
This is my first piece of furniture I have done in a two-toned look. Leaving some wood and some painted.
I just love having the best of both worlds.
And look at those details!!
Last week I had the opportunity to go to Haven. I met some wonderful people and came home with lots of goodies and prizes. One of them being a gift pack of Chalk Paint ® decorative Paint by Annie Sloan.
I won a quart of Coco, clear wax and fabric. Yippee! Right up my alley!
I purchased this vanity a couple of weeks ago. The sell petty good and I have made a few!
It was in great shape and loved all the details. So when I came home with my paint gift I knew this is what I was going to use it on.
Then something happened.....
I couldn't do it.
It is kinda like the story of the time I went fishing when I was a little girl with my dad. I caught a huge catfish. No, really,.... it was huge.
My dad had to help me get it in and it was a struggle. He was so proud of me. He kept saying "Look how big he is!" Then it happened.
I couldn't do it.
I cried and made him throw it back in the water.
I know....not good. Poor Dad. He couldn't believe it!
Thank God he wasn't what we were depending on for dinner!
Anyway.....
When I saw the beautiful wood on the dresser drawers I couldn't paint it. I mean really look at the details.
Call it the fish that got away.
That is how this sucker became two-toned!
Now it sits for sale at Simply Southern Marketplace on the square in Murfeesboro, Tennessee.
I love a good fish story!

Stunning Deneen!!!!
Well worth seeing again. I still love the way you left the drawer fronts.
This piece is really worth commenting again. I saw it at Suzans.
Cynthia
I will comment again! Love it here as much as I loved it there.
I have a couple of dressers that have some nice wood-work detail on them that probably shouldn't be covered up either...I may do this treatment to them, too. Nicely done!
The details are beautiful and Suzan always makes them pop on her furniture redo's.
I love the two tone effect - looks amazing!
