I am so excited to be showing you my living room finally.
It all started with my tufted Sofa. Then I created the Inexpensive way to decorate a blank wall.
I went into this redesign wanting to break a few rules.
I think decorating should be what you want and love and not what someone tells you it HAS to be.
So I played around with placement, vintage and modern decor and a little bit of freebies I had laying inside and outside my home!
I had a few problems like light, a huge tv and an animal that kept photobombing!!
My precious 85lb fur baby!
He always makes me laugh. He literally kept getting on the couch when I was ready to take a picture.
I created some wall art for my fall mantel out of pallets. I will show you how I did it in another post.
I felt the mantel looked to busy so I edited the space. I also felt the scale was wrong.
I also need a rug to ground the room.
Still looking but I am using an old one I had for now. I would like one with some blue in it.
He is beautiful don't you think?
I used the dried Hydrangeas I got from my friend Lorraine for my armoire.
and managed to get one picture without the dog!
You would think, that with that sunshine I could get a brighter picture in this room! I have tried.
...sigh...
and for the reveal
This is how is looks with the mantel edited and the old rug.
This will change like most of my rooms do.
But for now I like the warmth and coziness of the colors and layers.
and I still love my sofa!

I think that is one gorgeous dog!! He must know it too!! It all looks great and I'm looking forward to your post on your wall art!
Hi Deneen,
I love your living Room. The décor and eclectic mix really reflects your personality. I agree that we should live with what we love and break the rules. I've often tried to decorate by following the trends but find that it never really works for me. I always end up going back to what I love. The mantel in your room is stunning. Love it all.

looks wonderful, dog and all. I have 2 large dogs myself, so I can totally relate. Love what you said "decorating should be what you want and love and not what someone tells you it HAS to be". I feel the same way
I love your fur baby! I like the rug in your room. I can also relate to the giant tv and all that it requires.
@Denny1600 Thank you! He is a bundle of love. This is real TV and all!! I am already thinking on how I will change it for the holidays!
What a sunny, beautiful, happy place to relax in! I love it!

It turned out beautiful, Deneen. I love the layers and the colors. Of course, your dog is the perfect accessory. No room is complete without the dog.
Your last picture is so pretty...love the mantle and the rug with it all!
You've done an amazing decorating job Deneen. Your place is beautiful and inviting and I'd love to give your pup's ears a little scritch! Thanks for sharing and blessings to you, Patti
