Farmhouse Chest of Drawers

Always changing things but one thing I love to do is paint. I have done quite a bit of palette knife paintings and I am going to preview them at the Boro Art Crawl this month. Also, I have been painting lots of furniture. When you are an artist you just want to create.

I always lean towards the ones with lots of details. Country Chic Paint has some great colors to work with. So glad I carry the line at my store Dreamingincolor! This is painted in Driftwood and Vanilla frosting. 

I just got a new paint in also! My Grandson actually mixed and created this color and Country Chic created it for my signature line of paint. It is named after him. This is a grey blue color and I can't wait to paint something with it.

It seemed appropriate since my son just adopted him this year. I wanted to do something special. Our hearts are so full!! He is a bright spot in our day.

Country Chic Paint in Tennessee

When I opened my store over a year ago, I knew I wanted to carry paint in my store. After all, that's what I do, paint. I have tried several brands and really liked Country Chic Paints for durability and color. It is a chalk based paint so it is easy to work with. One of the most important things they offered was NO VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds, In easy terms the smelly harmful vapor)

So now, after a year of carrying Country Chic Paint in Tennessee, what do I think?

I think when people use this product they are pleasantly surprised with how smooth and beautiful this finish is. The classes we offer teach application and techniques of the various products available in this line of paint. Our class schedule is posted under classes in our header.

One of my favorite colors is Elegance. It is a pretty grey blue.

Time and time again the custom pieces I paint has the customer coming back for more. They get inspired by color. Those afraid of using color begin to see how it can transform those pieces stuck in a back bedroom or in storage. After they are renewed with paint, they become the pieces that are treasured again.

With all the chalky paint on the market I take that as a compliment!

I have found that most paints, when compared apples to apples, take several coats for coverage, are too thick or too thin and have little desired colors available. They are usually harmful to the environment and to your health. When people think they are getting a deal,(cheaper price) they usually are using more of the other paints for coverage in the long run, thus spending much more.

This is my opinion.

Painted Snowman Pillow

I think I have a tiny obsession!

I love pillows.

If you could see my closet, you would understand.

No, I am not going to show you THAT picture.

I have them lined on a shelf organized by color! I know ....crazy...

Then I started painting some.....

Like my bunny and pumpkin pillows.

Now I have done a quick Christmas one.

Pottery Barn Inspired Pumpkin Pillow

It must be the time of year.

The time of year I like to do Pottery Barn knock offs.

The last time I did one was for Halloween. 

This one is a little different. I wanted something fallish for the living room. I have to be careful with the color orange since my coral color can clash with it. This was just a touch so it worked.

I love painting on pillows. I did one for Easter here.
