Painting Changes Everything and A Project

It is amazing what a can a spray paint can do!

I do not like the gold brassy look of the 80's anymore. Although I am sure it will come back and we will all want it in our homes again like those awful brass swans making a comeback! So with a can of Krylon I got to work on some thrifted items from this past week.

Although I like the tangerine color it has a chip in it and doesn't go in my kitchen. So with a little paint it transforms to this......

I found this chandelier and freshly painted it....

And this little shelf from Goodwill.......

glass top
Gold and Brassy......

I am loving the rope and tassel bottom. The paint really brings out the details!

This little frame is metal but gold and has no back.

Love it in black......

I took some pretty scrapbook paper cut it to size to glue to the back of the frame.

I added a sand dollar and glued to the center of the paper. I got a piece of ribbon and threaded into the frame to use as a hanger.

I love the transformation and classy look of the frame and best of all it didn't cost a dime! This was all stuff I had on hand or was given to me.

Very creative. You make me want to be braver with paint and look at things from a different point of view. I wouldn't have thought twice about that shelf, because of the brass. Now I seen not to judge a shelf by it's color. It looks great black!

Love the little black frame redo. I've got an ugly gold frame and lots of shells. I feel a project coming on! I'm a new follower.
